Recent Teaching Experience

September 2011 – Present: Adjunct Professor of English at CUNY—Queens College, Queens, NY.
Undergraduate courses include Composition, Narrative and Poetry.

January 2015: Visiting Professor at Drew University’s Low-Residency MFA Program in Poetry and Poetry in Translation, Madison, NJ.
Led two workshops for graduate students translating poetry from Farsi, German and Spanish. Gave one reading and presented a craft talk on translation theory to students and faculty.

As part of “Cuba in Splinters,” a two-day conference on literature, arts and culture in and from Cuba, presented Cuban authors at two different events and read my translations of them; acted as interpreter and moderator for a panel of five Cuban writers entitled “What We Talk About When We Talk About Cuban Fiction.”
